Travel Planning

Another crazy week...
I've had a really bad week at work, with lots of demands on my time, and working very long hours. Add to this the fact that I only have 2 weeks of work left and, mentally, I've already left my job. The stress was high and it seems to have landed right on my shoulders - literally. I've been suffering with upper back spasms all week and now, on Saturday, am confined to bed and taking lots of muscle relaxers. It sucks!
In the few moments I wasn't working, John and I were both scanning the web sites for flights and 'things to do' with our 5-days before we meet our daughter. We had specific limitations with 'needing' to be in Guangzhou by May 17 and 'needing' to return home with a direct flight on the 29th. Everything before & after was open. It made choosing what to do with those 5 days harder than we thought...
Narrowing down our options, we spent this morning running around to travel agents getting quotes for flights and our 'leisure' time. All seems to be working out well and it looks like we're going to take a 4-day Yangze River cruise before flying to Guangzhou to meet our baby. We're both quite excited and feel this is a great way to see some of China, have a few days to relax, decompress and adjust to the time zones before...

  1. Christine,

I'm sorry that I had to giggle after reading this post. What happened to "Don't stress over things?" I've had my headache for three weeks now and have had to go back on muscle relaxers this past week. Still no TA yet - sure hoping for early in the week. I'm getting a little worried. My last day of work is Friday. I know exactly what you mean about mentally having left your job! Imagine having to teach French to junior high kids every day? (This intensifies my headache) Try to take it easy. You have a few weeks left yet. I did feel better once Maya's clothes were washed and packed, along with my clothes being packed and everything we need to take put into one room. It will get better.

    Take care,
    Lori
